Kasarinlan has been performing for various audiences here and abroad since l985. The group has given successful performances in New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Denver, Ann Arbor, Hayward, and other U.S. cities in 1995, 1996, and 1997. Throughout 1998, Kasarinlan celebrated with the nation the Centennial of Independence with a series of performances that include the centennial offerings of Concert at the Park, Bel-Air Village, Records Management and Archives Office, and KKK(or Kalakbay Kultura sa Kalayaan) of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts. Kasarinlan has received many awards of recognition, such as the Special Award of Recognition from the Institute of Philippine Languages in l987, for its vigorous promotion of Philippine music, languages and cultural identity.
